Regarding new entry of foreign nationals into Japan, based on the New Border Measures (34) dated on September 26, 2022, prescribed applications in the Entrants, Returnees Follow-up Systems (ERFS) is no longer required.
Visa exemption arrangements have been resumed from 0:00 am (JST) on October 11, 2022.

What you need to enter Japan
COVID-19: Current Japanese Border Measures
or
a certificate of negative result of pre-departure COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours prior to departing from the original country/region.
All returnees and entrants are required to provide either
a valid COVID-19 vaccination certificate (3 doses) of vaccines on the Emergency Use List of World Health Organization (WHO)or
a certificate of negative result of pre-departure COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours prior to departing from the original country/region.
- Vaccine Certificate for Quarantine
(1) The certificate must be issued by a government or public institution
(2) The items must be indicated in Japanese or English
(3) The certificate must clearly show that you have received 3 doses of any of the following vaccines on the Emergency Use Listing of World Health Organization (WHO)

All entrants including Japanese citizens who do not have a valid vaccination certificate must be tested within 72 hours of departure.
Those who are unable to present a valid vaccination certificate or a valid certificate of inspection will not be allowed to enter Japan, as based on Quarentine Law.

To Anyone Entering/Returning to JapanAs part of border measures to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), enhanced quarantine procedures are in place for entry to Japan.
Travellers are strongly encouraged to use Fast Track to simplify Japan entry procedures.

- To use Fast Track you must pre-register via MySOS Web (online) or the MySOS app.
- Please complete the pre-registration at least 6 hours prior to your flight’s scheduled arrival time.
- Depending on airport congestion and other factors, quarantine procedures could still take some time even if you use Fast Track. Your understanding is appreciated.
